Apple iPod
The Apple iPod is arguably the best know family of mp3 players on the market. Apple broke all standards both in capacity and design when they released the first generation iPod on October 21st 2001 and Apple have gone on to sell over 60 million units since then. Focusing on simplicity of design and usability, Apple succeeded in generating a whole culture of 'iPodders' to whom the iPod is not just a fashion accessory, but a necessary part of every day life.
Now on its 5th generation, the Apple iPod is much more than an mp3 player. With up to 60GB hard disk space, the latest iPods also have video and photo capabilities with enough room for over a month's worth of music or several full length feature films.
When used with the free iTunes software from Apple, the iPod contents can be easily and quickly managed and new content converted to mp3 from CDs.
